Automatic downloads in iOS allow apps, as well as other items, to be updated automatically. Automatic downloads is a useful feature if you tend to forget to update your apps and end up with a huge number to update at once.
When you have multiple technicians, this can be very handy to ensure ALL your technicians always have the latest version of the ServicePal app.
If your App Store icon shows a red badge, your iPad has not been configured for automatic updates.
To begin, tap “Settings” on your home screen.
On the left side of the “Settings” screen, tap “iTunes & App Store”.
Turn the slider for Updates to "ON"
NOTE: You can also prevent new apps, music, and books, from automatically downloading by turning off the appropriate slider buttons.
In the example above, the iOS device has been configured to also get automatic app updates when the device is using cellular data. This allows technicians in the field to get automatic updates as soon as they become available.
